At Mon Coeur, every piece of clothing starts with a simple idea: create something made for play, made responsibly, and made to last. From the very first sketch to the final stitch sewn in Portugal, our process is rooted in creativity, sustainability, and craftsmanship. Today, we’re taking you behind the scenes to show exactly how your child’s favorite pieces are made.
1. It All Starts With a Sketch
Each collection begins on paper. Our design team sketches silhouettes inspired by the season—for Fall, that might mean playful woodland prints, cozy layers, and bold color stories your little ones will love. We focus on pieces that feel good, move well, and fit easily into a busy kid’s day.
2. Choosing Sustainable Fabrics
Once designs are approved, the fabric journey begins. Sustainability is built into every choice we make. We hand-select organic cotton, recycled cotton, recycled polyester, responsible dyes, and durable, easy-to-wear fabrics designed for adventurous little ones. Our goal is always the same: create clothing that lasts so the planet does too.
3. Bringing Color & Print to Life
Color and print are at the heart of our brand. Bold grids, playful blocks, soft seasonal hues, and signature prints are developed directly with our factories. Every hue is lab-tested to make sure it’s safe, vibrant, and long-lasting — even after multiple washes and lots of playtime.
4. Crafting the Fabric
Next, our partner factories in Portugal begin weaving, knitting, or producing the chosen fabrics. You’ll often see this step featured in our videos: yarns spinning, dyes mixing, fabrics being inspected. This is where our designs literally start to take shape.
5. Cutting, Sewing & Assembling
With fabric ready, skilled artisans begin cutting each piece using precise patterns for consistent fit and comfort. Then comes the stitching — tiny, durable seams designed for real-life play. Clean seams, reinforced stitching, soft labels or printed tags, and thoughtful design details (like bouclé embroidery or ruffle shoulders) are all part of this stage.
6. Quality Checks at Every Step
Before a piece leaves the workshop, it goes through multiple quality checks. We look for perfect seams, true sizing, vibrant color, soft textures, and durability that’s truly made for play.
7. Final Touches & Packaging
Once a piece is finished, it's pressed, packaged responsibly, and shipped to our warehouse — and then finally to your home. Your child’s favorite sweatshirt, dress, or puffer jacket has already passed through dozens of caring hands.
Why It Matters
We create clothing with purpose. Every step from sketch to stitch reflects our mission to make clothing that’s gentle on the planet, joyful in design, and made to last season after season. When kids feel comfortable and confident, they explore more, play harder, and make memories in clothing that’s made to keep up.
